My mom and dad made a trip to Rapid City from Vermillion just for my birthday! We had a fun afternoon making ice cream and spending time laughing together! Once we finished making the ice cream we wrote about the process and what we enjoyed! My parents thought this was an amazing class... And I agree! Here are a few photos. At the end of the day, my mom requested for the students to sing happy birthday to me for my birthday tomorrow. They had fun with it!!
I have created a "Donors Choose" site to help fund some literacy in our classroom. You may check it out by clicking on the link below. Our kiddos love to read, and I am all for supporting them and helping them reach their goals for this year!
We had so much fun at the Black Hills Powwow! Many of the students were going to be preforming for the Grand Entrance on Friday evening. It was really fun to be able to see some of the students in their element. We were able to hear from some awesome motivational speakers and watch some amazing dances. My students filled me in on all the Lakota traditions and tribal dances. It was so interesting to be able to learn from the students and hear about their culture.
Once we finished watching all the performers, we had lunch. When we got back to school we deserved a recess. The students did a fabulous job during the field trip. We spent some time out in the sun and enjoying some recess. We had so much fun today, and I wanted to share some of the wonderful images captured today! We had so much fun on our Friday Fun Day! We spent the morning learning about inferences in reading, we played a factor find game in math and then in writing we learned how to make our leads interesting! The afternoon we had time to sit back, relax, eat Eileen's Cookies and watch Wreck It Ralph as a class. The students will also have an opportunity to earn a class part on Oct. 31st!
Woohoo! We made it to our first party day! Students made their goal of earning 15 class points by working together and following directions. Once every student in the classroom receives 5 Dojo points, then the students earn a class point. We are going to be celebrating our hard work by spending our morning watching Wreck-it Ralph and enjoying some Eileen's cookies. Pictures will be posted soon! If you are ever interested in checking out how well your student is behaving in the classroom, please sign up to our class Dojo site!
